The correspondence deals with customs and maritime matters. The first reel (number 32 of the entire set known as Microcopy 178) contains letters to and from officials in: Charleston, SC; East River, VA; Kennebunk, ME; Saco, ME; New Haven, CT; Little Egg Harbor, NJ; Delaware; Camden, NC; and Cuyahoga, OH. The inclusive dates are 1 June 1792-25 March 1833.
